Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Valéry Freland, Executive Director of the International Union for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Zones (ALIPH).
The Prime Minister praised the activities of ALIPH in the field of protection of historical and cultural heritage and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia expressed readiness for cooperation.
Nikol Pashinyan noted that one of Armenia's priorities is to protect the Armenian cultural and religious heritage from destruction in the territories that passed under the control of Azerbaijan after the 44-day war, attaching great importance to the unhindered involvement of the international community, especially UNESCO, in the preservation of the Armenian monuments in Nagorno Karabakh and prevention of the ongoing cases of vandalism.
The interlocutors also discussed issues of cooperation in the preservation and restoration of historical and cultural monuments in the territory of Armenia. The sides exchanged views on reinforcement and digitization works, development of necessary infrastructure, exchange of experience and training opportunities for specialists.
