During the Parliament-Government question-and-answer session, Taguhi Ghazaryan, MP of the ‘Civil Contract’ faction, asked Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan a question on the Armenia-Turkey settlement process and inquired whether a meeting was possible in Armenia or Turkey in the near future.
"I do not attach much importance to the meeting place, I do not rule out that at some point, when the process begins to register tangible success, such meetings may take place in Ankara and Yerevan, too.
At the moment, I can say that, unfortunately, no matter how much it is said at the level of public speech that the process is without preconditions, nevertheless, our Turkish partners are somehow synchronizing this process with our process with Azerbaijan. This, of course, does not add constructive value to the process, it does not make the atmosphere more constructive.
Discussions continue. Unfortunately, there is no significant tangible result at this time. I hope we will be able to have such results in the near future.
We are firm and sincere in our publicly announced position, we are interested in opening the border and establishing relations.
We would like to see the same from the Turkish side. The various gestures of the Turkish Foreign Minister do not contribute to that process,” Mirzoyan said.
