Moscow expects Brussels to help implement the trilateral agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh, and not to play geopolitical games. This is how Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova reacted to the EU mediation in the settlement of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) issue.
“Russia's strategic goal is to make the South Caucasus a zone of stability and prosperity, as well as to contribute to that process. One of the key issues is the comprehensive settlement of relations between Yerevan and Baku, the establishment of a lasting peace. Russia provides comprehensive assistance to the partners of Yerevan and Baku in all areas, including unblocking transport links, delimitation of borders, and establishing public dialogue.
We see persistent attempts by the EU to interfere in the implementation of agreements at the highest level. We hope that Brussels, if it wants, will help to implement them, and not play geopolitical games,” Zakharova stressed.
