The United States is trying to clarify Turkey's position on Sweden's and Finland's membership in NATO. Pentagon Spokesman John Kirby announced this during the briefing.
“We're still working to clarify Turkey's position on this. They're a valued NATO ally. Neither Sweden nor Finland have made a formal application to NATO yet. There's a process here, and I think we're going to work our way through that process. But it's not for us to dictate from the Pentagon, what the foreign policy of another nation ought to be,” Kirby said.
