Moscow wants the South Caucasus to become a zone of peace, sustainable development and prosperity. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated at a meeting with Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers in Dushanbe.
"For Moscow, it is important to increase the level of trust between the parties in creating conditions for a full-fledged normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations," Lavrov said, expressing hope that the meeting will move forward on the path outlined by the leaders.
RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stressed at the beginning of the meeting that Yerevan had been "faithful to the fulfillment of all agreements" and statements between the leaders of the three countries.
"We are ready to continue all work in the direction of the existing standards, the opening of economic infrastructure communications in the region, the peace agreement, or, perhaps more accurately, the normalization of relations, the establishment of relations, the resolution of all other issues, including humanitarian, release of prisoners of war and other issues that remain unresolved," Armenian Foreign Minister said.
In his turn, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister stressed that the meeting is a good opportunity to discuss possible progress. He expressed hope that the results will be achieved in full implementation of the trilateral statements.
