Armenia’s Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan and Ambassadors of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan accredited to Armenia paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War in the Yerevan City Pantheon.
Diplomats laid flowers at the monument, where the remains of the victims of the Patriotic War are buried in the fraternal grave.
“This is not just a state holiday, it is also a family holiday, because there is probably no family in Armenia, Russia, other countries of the former Soviet Union that has not faced the war and its aftermath in one way or another. There are veterans and heroes everywhere, and it is very possible that the memory of these events will be passed down from generation to generation.
We have no right to forget the lessons of history, we have no right to forget the heroism of our ancestors, who gave their most precious for this victory," said the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin.
