The United States has no indication of Moscow's attempts to send or receive weapons from third countries to Russia. Pentagon Spokesman John Kirby announced this during a briefing.
“They had assembled an awful lot of their own organic combat power outside Ukraine before the 24th of February. They still have a lot of that combat power left,” the official said.
According to him, Russia has not expressed interest in organizing contacts between the defense ministers of the two countries. Kirby said that the Pentagon tried to contact Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu weeks ago, but the Russian side showed no interest.
Kirby reminded that there is a direct connection between the US and the Russian military departments. The US-Russian military also uses such a channel in Syria.
