European Union relations with Russia should be reviewed and security guarantees negotiated. This was stated by the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell.
“We will have to find ways to reorganize relations between the EU and Russia and agree on security guarantees and mechanisms that will allow us to establish peaceful coexistence,” he said.
According to Borrell, the European Union, NATO and the United States were ready to discuss all aspects of security with Moscow before the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine. After the outbreak of hostilities, this became impossible.
Reaching agreements on security guarantees can be discussed, but this process will be difficult and long, the head of European diplomacy specified.
