Don Seder, Member of the Dutch Parliament, Foreign Affairs Spokesman of the coalition Christian Union Party, met in Armenia with Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Parliament Vice Speaker Vahram Balayan, Deputy Foreign Minister Armine Aleksanyan, and Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan.
“I am in Armenia and have spoken with representatives from Nagorno-Karabakh and the Armenian Parliament about the violent conflict with Azerbaijan,” the MP said in a Twitter post.
Afterwards he visited the 13th century monastery Noravank. This morning he paid tribute to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims at Tsitsernakaberd Memorial.
According to Artsakh Ombudsman Gegham Stepanyan, Azerbaijan did not imagine that the people of Artsakh would return to Artsakh after the war, but they returned and live in very difficult conditions today. He stressed that Azerbaijan uses all means to prevent the people of Artsakh from leaving Artsakh. The Ombudsman of Artsakh presented in detail the cruel and inhuman actions of Azerbaijan against the Armenians of Artsakh. He noted that both in 1915 and today, the world is silent, but he believes that the rights of the people of Artsakh must be protected in the international arena.
