The President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Daniel Kurkdjian, the President of the Council of French-Armenians, and Honorary President of Grant Thornton Armenia.
Daniel Kurkdjian provided the President with information on the programs and activities implemented by the Council of French-Armenians, as well as cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Armenia. The President of the Council of French-Armenians Daniel Kurkdjian noted that a business forum with the participation of Armenian and French companies is to be organized in France this autumn.
President Khachaturyan welcomed every proposal aimed at developing the activities of the Council, and Armenian-French relations, expressing readiness to support them as much as possible.
The Council of French-Armenians, formed recently, pursues the aim of coordinating issues of preserving the Armenian identity: particularly, connected with gradually decreasing of Armenian cultural venues in France, weakened command of the Armenian language in the Diaspora, and difficulties in Armenian schools in France. The Council also, has the purpose of developing French-Armenian relations in all spheres: culture, economy, education, law, healthcare, and in other areas.
