US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced during a visit to Kyiv that Washington will allocate $713 million in military aid for Ukraine and 15 other European countries, The Associated Press reported on Sunday.
Out of that amount, more than $322 million will go to Ukraine while the rest will be divided among the countries of eastern and central Europe, the report said.
The United States can hardly follow what happens to the weapons transferred to Ukraine. This was announced on Monday by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
"We do not have a ground force in Ukraine, so it is difficult for us to do that," Austin said in response to a question about whether the United States planned to follow weapons used during the war, such as the Stinger and the Javelin, which fell into the hands of the military in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
"We are concerned about this, we have been in talks with the President of Ukraine, the Minister of Defense, noting the need to bring these weapons to their target as efficiently as possible," Austin said.
