Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan together with President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial on the occasion of the Genocide Remembrance Day to pay tribute to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims.
Nikol Pashinyan laid a wreath at the monument, laid flowers at the eternal fire commemorating the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister visited the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, got acquainted with “Tracing the Armenian Schools in the Ottoman Empire: An Enlighted Nation’s Certificates” materials presented at the exhibition.
The exhibition presents the once prosperous activities of about 2,000 Armenian schools in Western Armenia, Cilicia, and the Armenian-populated areas of the Ottoman Empire, which were interrupted by the Armenian Genocide.
The temporary exhibition consisting of sixteen bilingual (Armenian and English) panels features about thirty original graduation certificates, photographs, textbooks, and other school supplies.
