A solemn ceremony dedicated to the 107th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was held in front of the Armenian khachkar in the French city of Charenton-le-Pont on April 20, with the participation of Val-de-Marne department leadership, many mayors, the French National Assembly and the Senate members.
During his speech, Ambassador Tolmajyan reminded that the manifestations of the genocidal policy towards Armenians in the own homeland are not limited with the 1915 Armenian Genocide. They began in the late 19th century with the Armenian pogroms in the Ottoman Empire in 1894-1895, and continued into the 20th century to the present day, the most recent manifestations of which were the war in Artsakh, ethnic cleansing and murders of peaceful civilians implemented by Azerbaijan.
