The European Union will tighten sanctions against Russia until it ceases military action in Ukraine. The statement came from Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer after talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv.
“We have adopted a new package of sanctions, it will not be the last,” Nehammer said, adding that Austria would support Ukraine. He also assured that Vienna will not allow the EU sanctions against Russia to be bypassed.
The President of Ukraine, in turn, stressed that if any country is unable to help Kyiv with weapons, it can provide assistance in any other way. According to Zelensky, Ukraine is ready to fight, but will look for diplomatic ways to resolve the situation.
