Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that the situation in the energy sector worldwide is "deteriorating due to non-market measures and pressure on Gazprom." He accused the West of "trying to shift its own mistakes in the economic sphere onto the Russian Federation and solve problems at its expense."
Turning to the food supply, Putin warned that, due to the possibility of global shortages, Russia must "be more careful" about food exports in order to minimize the impact of the shortages on the domestic market. He insisted that Russia can ensure domestic food prices are lower than on the world market.
