Increased energy price in Europe aggravated by the escalating Russia-Ukraine conflict has exerted huge pressure on the industry power, Germany, and may deal a heavy blow to the country's economy if it continues to go up, said experts.
According to data released by Germany's Federal Statistical Office at the end of March, prices of gas and electricity jumped 256.5 percent and 155.3 percent, respectively, year on year.
The German Council of Economic Experts (GCEE) on Wednesday slashed its economic growth forecast for Germany in 2022 from 4.6 percent to 1.8 percent.
