Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, who is in Lithuania on a working visit, met with Vaidotas Urbelis, the Defense Policy Director at the Ministry of National Defense of Lithuania, and Kestutis Lancinskas, the Vice-Minister of the Interior of Lithuania, the press service of the Security Council reported.
During the meeting with Urbelis, the sides exchanged views on the tense military-political situation in the region. In this context, the secretary of Armenia’ Security Council presented the actions taken by Azerbaijan against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and the possible threats arising from them. Also, Grigoryan presented the proposals of the Armenian side aimed at stabilizing the security situation.
And during the meeting with Lithuanian deputy interior Minister Lancinskas, the interlocutors discussed and noted the challenges posed by growing international migration and the need for communication to oversee it.
In addition, the secretary of Armenia’ Security Council presented the police reforms being implemented in the country, and thanked Lancinskas for his personal contribution to the development of its concept. In turn, the Lithuanian vice-minister of the interior expressed readiness to share with the Armenian side his country’s rich track-record in border management.
