Adviser to the Chief of Staff of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak commented on the Russian-Ukrainian talks at the Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul.
“The key issue in the talks is the ceasefire, and the provision of international security guarantees to Ukraine, only then will it be possible to end the war the way Kyiv wants. Violations of international conventions on prisoners of war are also being discussed. The issue of aggravation of hatred, violation of the customs and laws of war is considered separately,” Podolyak said.
Adviser to the Russian President, head of the Russian delegation Vladimir Medinsky, in his turn, expressed hope that the Russian-Ukrainian talks will end in a few hours and the parties will make statements.
“Russia has complained to Kyiv about the torture of captured Russian servicemen. The Ukrainian side accepted the complaint and promised to take the strictest measures. They listened to us,” Medinsky said.
