The Secretary of the NA ‘Civil Contract’ faction Arthur Hovhannisyan in the briefing with the journalists referred to the situation in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and the steps taken to overcome it.
“Regarding the situation around Artsakh, let me say that the processes continue. We are in regular contact with all our partners, first of all, we are negotiating with our partners in Russia. We continue to insist that active steps be taken to return the Azerbaijanis to their initial positions.
On the other hand, we regularly present the situation in Artsakh to a number of international humanitarian organizations,” Hovhannisyan said.
The MP noted that a proper investigation into the actions of both the Russian peacekeepers and Azerbaijan is expected.
Hovannisian stressed that the statements of the Azerbaijani side further provoke the situation and do not contribute to resolving the situation.
“We note that all subsequent agreements of November 9 have been violated. Our demand is to urge our partners that the peacekeeping forces be able to fully carry out their mission and ensure the security of the people of Artsakh. We expect that the Azerbaijanis will return to their initial positions through the mediation of Russian peacekeepers,” Hovhannisyan said.
