The Russian-Ukrainian talks are taking place every day on the basis of a video conference, said Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council. However, he refused to talk about the results of the talks, commenting that they require silence.
According to Medvedev, the purpose of the talks is to establish the results of a special military operation for Moscow, in particular, the neutral status of Ukraine, the demilitarization of the country, the rejection of Nazi ideological laws.
The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council also touched upon the possibility of Moscow using nuclear weapons. “There are situations in which Russia has the right to use nuclear weapons. All of them are enshrined in the relevant document, it shows the country's determination to defend its sovereignty,” said Dmitry Medvedev.
The former Russian President added that, nevertheless, in difficult situations, negotiations are the best and most correct option. “Negotiations, of course, do not always succeed, but we must go that way,” he added.
