Russia is ready for a dialogue with the United States, but only on an equal and mutual basis and Washington does not show it is ready for it, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said on Saturday, TASS reports.
"We are not avoiding dialogue and are ready to talk, but only on an equal footing, signs of which are not visible even under a magnifying glass in Washington," she said. "On the contrary, the American side is doing everything it can to complicate the functioning of Russian foreign missions in the US, citing hypocritical arguments about the need to retain a diplomatic presence. We encourage Washington once more to consider the consequences," Zakharova added.
She added that US representatives at various levels are trying to absolve themselves of responsibility for the state of Russian-American relations that are close to a complete rupture.
