According to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the heads of the Russian and Azerbaijani Ministries of Defense Sergei Shoigu and Zakir Hasanov had a telephone conversation, during which they discussed issues related to the aggravation of the situation in the area under the Russian peacekeepers’ control in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The ministers discussed ways to stabilize the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and maintain security in the South Caucasus.
The parties exchanged views on the peacekeeping operation and the humanitarian situation in the area.
