On March 24, the units of the armed forces of Azerbaijan, grossly violating the demands of the November 10, 2020 trilateral statement, invaded the area under theresponsibility of the peacekeeping troops of the Russian Federation in the Artsakh Republic (Nagorno-Karabakh), taking control of the village of Parukh in the Askeran region and adjacent positions. Then the Azerbaijani armed forces tried to secure progress in the eastern border of the Artsakh Republic, Artsakh Defense Army reports.
The negotiations between the Russian peacekeeping troops and the relevant bodies of Artsakh for hours did not yield significant results, the enemy did not return to the initial positions.
Moreover, on the night of March 25, Azerbaijani units opened fire on Defense Army units, using both firearms of various calibers and striking drones.
As a result of the skirmish, at least 5 servicemen of the enemy were killed. There is one wounded from the Armenian side.
As of 09:00, the situation is relatively stable. We expect that the Russian peacekeepers will take measures to return the Azerbaijani units to their initial positions.
Earlier we reported that the Azerbaijani armed forces violated the line of contact in the direction of Parukh village.
