Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Eduard Aghajanyan touched upon the situation in Artsakh during today's press conference.
“What is happening is another manifestation of the ethnic cleansing of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, which is being carried out by Azerbaijan, to deprive the Armenians of Artsakh of the right to live in their Homeland, which we are witnessing. In particular, in the post-war period, this process has acquired a special and practical look, about which the Armenian authorities have informed and alerted the international community,” Aghajanyan said.
Aghajanyan stressed that we are talking about the territory under the responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers.
“In fact, as a result of this advance, the Azerbaijani armed forces appeared behind the Russian peacekeepers, that is, they bypassed them. Our expectation is to receive answers from our Russian partners about the conditions under which it happened. We expect that this problem will be eliminated as soon as possible, and the Azerbaijani armed forces will return to the initial positions from where the advance took place,” Aghajanyan said.
Aghajanyan noted that, as the Chairman of the NA Committee on Foreign Relations, he expects a practical result, which will register the realization of the mandate of the Russian peacekeepers, which will exclude such provocations in the area of responsibility of the latter.
“I think that at least the urgency of the Russian peacekeepers in the area under their responsibility is not exhausted. We think that with the latter it is possible to find solutions and get to the point that the obligations arising from the provisions of the trilateral statement will be fulfilled by all parties, including the Russian peacekeepers,” Aghajanyan said.
Earlier we reported that the Azerbaijani armed forces violated the line of contact in the direction of Parukh village.
