Moscow calls for resolving the gas supply problem in Nagorno-Karabakh as soon as possible. The statement came from Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova during a weekly briefing.
“Russia is in contact with Armenia and Azerbaijan and calls for a solution to the gas supply problem in the region as soon as possible. Relevant work is being done on the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Energy, Gazprom. We believe that the already complicated humanitarian situation should not be worsened. Civilians should not suffer,” Zakharova said.
Referring to the recent violations of the ceasefire by Baku on the line of contact between Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and Azerbaijan, the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman said that the study of the facts and the assessment of the situation should be left to the military experts of the Russian peacekeeping forces on the ground.
Asked about the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Armenian-Russian relations, Zakharova stressed that considerable work is being done in that direction. She promised to provide more detailed information on the planned events in the future.
