Spokesman for the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on Vladimir Putin's instruction to pay for gas supplies to Europe in rubles.
During the briefing, journalists asked Peskov whether it was possible that after such a decision, the West would want to terminate gas contracts with Russia.
“Yesterday the President instructed to work out a mechanism for making that payment in rubles within a week. When there are contacts with gas buyers, we will present the conditions to them, and they will be able to express their position. Let's wait," the Kremlin spokesman said.
According to Peskov, countries hostile to Russia, such as Bulgaria, will have to pay for gas in rubles.
Referring to Serbia's concerns over the issue, Peskov said that Belgrade's observations would be taken into account.
