On March 24, Russian Defense Minister, Army General Sergei Shoigu held a telephone conversations with Defense Minister of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan, Armenia’s Defense Ministry reports.
Suren Papikyan presented the recent developments in Askeran region of the Artsakh Republic (Nagorno-Karabakh) in connection with the violation of the line of contact by the units of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and the explosive situation created as a result. Armenia’s Minister of Defense stressed the need for the Azerbaijani units to return to their initial positions.
Sergei Shoigu assured that the situation is in the center of the Russian side's attention, necessary steps are being taken towards its peaceful resolution.
