China should not support Russia, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated at a press conference summarizing the results of the alliance summit.
“NATO leaders today called on China to refrain from supporting Russia's military efforts. China should not provide economic or military assistance to the Russian invasion, instead Beijing should use its significant influence on Russia to promote an immediate peaceful settlement,” Stoltenberg said.
At the same time, the NATO Secretary General noted that the alliance will not send troops to Ukraine, as it will lead to a large-scale conflict with Russia.
Despite this, the North Atlantic Alliance will create four additional multinational combat groups in Europe in response to the special operation of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine. They will be established in Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
