Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev wrote in his Telegram channel that the Russian economy would not suffer from sanctions.
According to him, the previously imposed sanctions only benefited Russia, forcing to actively develop import substitution in all industries. In addition, he recalled that the government has already taken operational decisions to support people and the economy.
"In general, there will be no collapse in the economy," Medvedev wrote.
Developing Russia’s own production in those sectors where Russia has none is a daring but implementable task amid sanctions, Medvedev stated.
"We need to develop our own production in those sectors where we have not done it. This is a difficult task, especially in the current conditions. But it is an implementable task, the more so as solidarity and mutual assistance have always helped us in times of trouble," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
