At the NA Committee on Defense and Security session, one of the parliamentarians asked the Deputy Director of the National Security Service of Armenia Tigran Harutyunyan a question about the resumption of the war and the panic information spread on the Internet by various people.
"We have regular conversations with the mentioned people. In many cases, there are officials with whom we talk and mention the inadmissibility of spreading panic information, but there are no legal consequences. If it is directed, it is a different topic, if it is not directed, the person expresses his/her concern, it is a different approach. I think we need to provide legal solutions to these issues so that, in addition to preventive interventions, we can also apply punitive measures to stop the torrent of further irresponsible statements,” Harutyunyan said.
Later, in a briefing with reporters, Harutyunyan said that the information about the resumption of the war was not grounded.
“War is always possible, but at the moment we have no information that a war should start in the near future,” he said.
