The Kremlin has nothing to say at this point when the special military operation in Ukraine to protect Donbass may end, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media on Monday.
"Nothing can be said for now," he replied, when asked if the Kremlin might disclose when the special operation would be completed.
Peskov kept quiet, when asked if President Vladimir Putin was satisfied with progress in the special operation.
The Russian Defense Ministry does not rule out taking under full control Ukraine’s major population centers, Peskov stated.
"With ensuring maximum safety of the civilian population, the Defense Ministry does not rule out the possibility of bringing under full control large settlements which are already practically surrounded today, with the exception of the zones used for humanitarian evacuation," Peskov said.
The Kremlin Press Secretary assured that the Russian Armed Forces are using advanced high-precision weapons, hitting only facilities of military and information infrastructure.
“Russia has a sufficient potential for conducting the special military operation in Ukraine. The operation is proceeding in accordance with the original plan and will be completed on time and in full," Peskov stressed.
According to the presidential spokesperson, Moscow has paid attention to the recent statements of US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell. According to those statements, Russian President Vladimir Putin is allegedly disappointed that in major cities, including Kyiv, the troops do not move in the way they want, and allegedly, in connection with that increases the number of targets to be attacked.
Peskov explained that “at the beginning of the operation, the Russian President instructed the Ministry of Defense to refrain from rapid attacks on large settlements, including Kyiv, as armed nationalist groups are equipping firing points and deploying heavy military equipment in residential areas.” And the military operations there "will inevitably lead to great losses of the civilian population."
"The operation was planned taking into account this circumstance," Peskov said.
