Russia will announce a ceasefire and is ready to provide humanitarian corridors in Ukraine starting from 10 am on March 8, the Russian Interagency Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Relief said on Monday, TASS reports.
"Starting from 10:00 on March 8 the Russian Federation announces a ceasefire regime and is ready to provide humanitarian corridors from Kyiv and adjacent population centers to the Russian Federation through the territory of the Republic of Belarus to Gomel subject to agreement with the Ukrainian side," it said in a statement.
Also, humanitarian corridors will be opened from Chernigov through Belarus, from the city of Sumy along two routes to Poltava and to Russia, from Kharkov to Russia or to Lvov, Uzhgorod and Ivano-Frankovsk. Also, a humanitarian corridor will be opened from Mariupol along two routes to Russia and Zaporozhe.
Russia proposes to Kyiv to agree before 3 am Moscow time on March 8 on humanitarian corridors and the time when they will open, the headquarters said.
"This statement shall be urgently delivered to the Ukrainian side (Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister Irina Andreyevna Vereshchuk) and a proposal shall be made to agree on said routes and the time when humanitarian corridors will start to function before 03:00 (Moscow time) on March 8," the statement said.
Russia and Ukraine will establish a communication line to exchange information on evacuation of civilians starting from 9:30 am on March 8.
"In order to implement in practice the measures for the evacuation of civilians and foreign citizens along agreed routes during the humanitarian operation, from 09:30 Moscow time on March 8, a continuous communication link shall be established between the Russian and Ukrainian sides for mutual exchange of information about the preparation and implementation of the evacuation of civilians and foreign citizens," the headquarters said in a statement.
The Russian statement on humanitarian corridors in Russian and English will be immediately communicated to foreign embassies, appropriate UN and OSCE agencies, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other international organizations through all available information resources including news media.
