Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met in Baku with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov. At the joint press conference after the talks, Bayramov noted that the key issues discussed were the situation in the South Caucasus, the possibility of opening communications between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the demarcation of the border with Armenia, and the Armenia-Turkey settlement process.
Çavuşoğlu said that he informed his counterpart about the steps taken to normalize relations with Armenia. According to Bayramov, Baku considers the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations positive.
Another important issue in the talks was the situation in Ukraine. “We are against the forcible change of the borders of the states, we are against the war against Ukraine. We are taking steps to end this war,” he said.
In his turn, Bayramov said that Azerbaijan sent 5.5 million Euros worth of aid to Ukraine by two planes.
