President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed General Mykola Zhirnov as head of the general’s Kyiv military administration. The head of state announced this in his video message on Tuesday, March 1.
“The defense of the capital is first of all. Therefore, I decided to appoint a professional military man as the head of the Kyiv military administration during the war in order to guarantee the defense of the city, to block the enemy’s approaches to our capital, so that the people of Kyiv had everything they needed. The head of the military administration will be General Zhirnov Nikolay Nikolaevich,” said the head of state.
On February 25, Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Yuriy Lebed as commander of the National Guard of Ukraine.
