Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Belarus Igor Karpenko said that 82.86% of voters cast ballots in favor of amending the Constitution of the Republic, according to TASS.
Karpenko said that during the referendum the Central Electoral Commission did not receive any information from observers about the violations. "195 foreign observers and 45,701 national observers followed the process," he said.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic reported that on February 27, law enforcement officers arrested about 800 people for violating public order. Criminal cases have been filed for inciting citizens to violate public order and organizing mass unauthorized rallies.
