During the press conference after the extraordinary summit of the European Union on Ukraine in Brussels, French President Emmanuel Macron said that it is necessary to leave a possibility to negotiate with Russia.
“I consider it my duty to keep this path of dialogue open so that, when the conditions are right, we can reach a ceasefire”, the French President said.
Macron reported that by Zelenskyy’s request he called Putin.
“By the request of President Zelenskyy, I had a fast, forward and honest conversation with President Putin”, he said mentioning that the goal of the conversation was the halt of the hostilities.
Macron announced the intention to send 300 million in aid to Ukraine. He also mentioned that they are ready to continue the supply of military equipment and France will also help the refugees from Ukraine.
