There are no NATO forces in Ukraine and there are no plans to deploy them. Jens Stoltenberg, the Secretary General of NATO informed summing up the results of the meeting of the permanent representatives of the alliance.
“We support Ukraine, but we provide strong guarantees of security only to NATO members”, he said.
At the same time, Stoltenberg mentioned that the alliance has already activated the pre-designed defense program that facilitates the movement of troops, including rapid reaction forces.
“We have prepared, strengthened our presence in the east, both in the air and at sea. Our actions are of a defensive nature. We want to avoid a conflict”, he reported.
