On February 21, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar.
During the meeting, the parties touched upon the Azerbaijan-EU relationsand the constructive dialogue. Aliyev praised the development of Azerbaijan-EU relations and called the decision to provide a 2 billion Euro loan to Azerbaijan on preferential terms an important indicator. He expressed hope that the negotiations on a new EU-Azerbaijan cooperation agreement will end soon.
The parties also referred to the meetings of the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders initiated by Charles Michel and French President Emmanuel Macron and highlighted the implementation of the agreements reached. Klaar and Aliyev exchanged views on the restoration of communication between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the demarcation of borders and other important issues.
