The Russian military and border guards prevented an attempt by a subversive-intelligence group to cross the state border from the territory of Ukraine, the press service of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation reports.
The ministry said that during the skirmish, two Ukrainian military vehicles entered Russian territory to evacuate the saboteurs. Both cars were destroyed, five members of the group were killed, there are no casualties among the Russian military, RIA Novosti writes.
In the morning, after the projectile was fired in Rostov region, a border service point was destroyed, there are no casualties.
Due to the threat of invasion of Ukraine, women, children and the elderly are being evacuated from Donetsk, Lugansk to the regions of Russia. A general mobilization has been announced in the region.
The Ukrainian side denied the information spread by Russia’s Ministry of Defense. The official Kyiv stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are in their positions and they are not carrying out an offensive operation.
