British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, in an interview with Die Welt, said that London had already agreed with its partners in the European Union and the G7 on sanctions against Russia in the event of an “invasion” of Ukraine, Teller Report reports.
“We must ensure that a tough package of sanctions is in place in the event of an emergency.
We have already agreed on these sanctions with our G7 and EU allies, including Germany,” Truss said.
Earlier, the G7 countries announced their readiness to impose sanctions on Russia in the event of an “invasion” of Ukraine.
In turn, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, noted the artificiality of the justification for the new British sanctions regime against Russia.
