During the second day of the visit to Marseille, the High Commissioner of the Diaspora met with Michèle Rubirola, the Deputy Mayor of Marseille.
“Marseille has been the gate of France for the French-Armenians”, Zareh Sinanyan mentioned thanking the Deputy Mayor for the warm welcome.
Then Sinanyan presented the situation in Artsakh, mentioning that Armenia seeks for peace in the region. “The process of the genocide’s recognition should be directly linked to the recognition of Artsakh’s independence.
If there was no impunity for the Armenian Genocide, we would not witness the last war”, he said.
“We are waiting for suggestions from the Armenian side to actively and properly celebrate the 30th anniversary of sisterhood between Yerevan and Marseille”, the Deputy Mayor stressed.
An agreement was reached to discuss the proposals with the Municipality of Yerevan and move forward together.
