On February 17, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received Lila Pieters Yahia, the Acting Resident Coordinator of the United Nations (UN) in Armenia.
Minister Mirzoyan expressed satisfaction on the efficient cooperation with the UN office in Armenia and valued the continuous close cooperation with the UN and specialized agencies of UN in the direction of strengthening democratic institutions in Armenia, effective implementation of sustainable development goals.
The interlocutors referred to initiated events in the framework of Armenia’s 30th anniversary of membership to UN.
The sides discussed the humanitarian issues caused by the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh.
Ararat Mirzoyan mentioned the necessity of unhindered engagement of the international specialized structures in Nagorno-Karabakh, including UN and agencies of UN.
