The meeting of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky took place in the Mariyinsky Palace. After the talks, Chancellor Scholz said that Zelensky promised to submit to the Contact Group on Ukraine the draft laws on the special status of Donbass, constitutional reforms and the right to vote, RIA Novosti reported.
The Chancellor highlighted the start of the ‘Normandy format’, at the same time calling it a ‘complicated process’.
During a press conference after the talks between the two leaders, the German leader considered the Russian military operations near the Ukrainian border unfounded due to the lack of grounds for Russian military activity.
The President of Ukraine also noted that Kyiv and Berlin have differences, different approaches to the issue of ‘North Stream-2’.
