US California State adopted a resolution of establishing sister/state-province cooperation with Syunik province in Armenia. By the resolution, California expresses solidarity to the southern province of Armenia Syunik.
It will contribute to the mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of education, economy and culture of the two administrative units. It is mentioned that Armenia and the United States are connected with mutual values of history, democracy, freedom and prosperity and the adoption of this resolution reaffirms that.
California Assembly member Chris Holden mentioned that strengthening the relationships with the Syunik province is being done at the time when Turkey and Azerbaijan are a danger to the existence and livelihood of the province.
“This resolution reaffirms California’s solidarity with Armenia and our strong Armenian community of one million. Today we are formulating long-lasting ties for tomorrow”, he said.
