The European Union accepts Ukraine’s desire to become EU member and considers that aspiration as Ukraine’s sovereign right, but so far that issue is not in the agenda of the EU, said Peter Stano, the Lead Spokesperson for the External Affairs of the union.
“We accept Kyiv’s desire to join EU, as well as NATO. It is the sovereign right of Ukraine and no one can affect that decision. We have an association agreement with Ukraine, we cooperate very closely in all the issues, but the membership of Ukraine is not in the agenda of the EU”, the Spokesperson said.
