Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Stanislav Zas announced the emerging prospects for establishing peace in the South Caucasus between Armenia and Azerbaijan, EADaily reports.
The administrative head of the military bloc indicated “some cautious optimism” regarding the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
“Of course, there are hotbeds of tension, they are on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. I was there, I saw with my own eyes what was happening there. There are shootings from time to time. It should not be like this,” the CSTO Secretary General stressed.
The parties now face a serious task of launching the process of delimitation and subsequent demarcation of the border, this is a large and complex amount of work, which, nevertheless, will significantly strengthen the security of the region, he expressed confidence.
