Online meetings with Diaspora communities continue. This is stated on the Facebook page of the Office of the High Commissioner for the Diaspora.
“High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan held a meeting with Armenian community representatives from the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand and Fergana in Uzbekistan. Participants were also joined by Aram Grigoryan, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The High Commissioner introduced the Office’s programs and invited the community to actively take part. He also spoke about the possibility of a visit to the region in the near future.
Uzbekistan’s Armenian community wants to have an Armenian embassy in the country, establish flights to the homeland and strengthen ties. The Ambassador emphasized the importance of the sister cities program, where a memorandum will soon be signed between the cities of Gyumri and Samarkand.”
