Ukraine has offered Azerbaijan to use its underground gas storage facilities. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Energy of the country Yaroslav Demchenkov. He stressed that the use of these reservoirs, as well as the Southern Gas Corridor, will contribute to the energy security of Europe.
The Ukrainian official stressed that reversals based on the Trans-Balkan pipeline and the use of huge underground gas storage facilities in Ukraine could help increase gas supplies from Azerbaijan to the EU.
Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, in turn, noted that the Southern Gas Corridor promises transit benefits for a large number of countries. It is expected that multifaceted cooperation will be established along the corridor. This requires signing new contracts, attracting investments, and increasing gas production.
