No matter how much the international community uses its tools to encourage the parties to come to an agreement on various issues, it is important that the parties have that political will. RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan said this during today's press conference.
"The whole world has seen that Armenia is ready, wants to build peace in our region, to resolve all unsettled issues. We have announced this not only publicly, but also in our Government's program, it is adopted at the National Assembly. Elections have taken place since then, and the people have, in fact, voted for that peace. This is where we should note with regret that we always receive the opposite messages from official Baku. I can advise my colleagues to look at the recent statement of the President of Azerbaijan.
As in the past, I repeat today that anti-Armenian rhetoric, aggressive steps at the border, failure to resolve humanitarian issues, and the continued presence of prisoners of war (POWs) in Azerbaijan do not contribute to a constructive atmosphere.
Although it was not intended for a tripartite statement, the Armenian side provided Azerbaijan with maps of minefields, as we are not interested in the death of people. We have given a unilateral solution to that issue,” Mirzoyan said.
As for international organizations, according to Mirzoyan, the Azerbaijani side forces international organizations, including those pursuing humanitarian goals, to adhere to the policies they see.
