Lawyer Ilham Tahmazov, one of the people who took an active part in the publicity of the events in Tartar in 2017 (torture of more than a hundred servicemen and the death of several of them), was arrested. Political scientist Arastun Orujlu reported this on social media.
“We did not expect anything else. Because the government that committed the Tartar massacre cannot do anything else. But this will not and cannot force those who have been fighting for years to retreat. Despite all the arrests, threats and violations, the ‘Tartar crime’ will be revealed. Because it is not just a crime, but also an assassination attempt against the existence of the people,” Arastun Orujlu wrote.
According to Azerbaijani media, Tahir Guliyev, the father of Vasif Guliyev, filed a lawsuit against him. The reason is that Ilham Tahmazov said that Vasif Guliyev tortured senior lieutenant Adil Sabirli during the events in Tartar in 2017. Adil Sabirli is one of the servicemen who died as a result of torture.
